"Very cozy place owned by an incredibly friendly and welcoming family. Breakfast was included in the price and it was always absolutely delicious — thanks to them, I had the chance to try several traditional Sri Lankan dishes I wouldn’t have discovered on my own. Whenever I needed anything, they were quick to help and always took care of everything with a smile. Their hospitality truly made my stay feel special and comfortable. Thank you once again for such a warm and memorable experience!"

The place is located a bit farther from the main areas, so you’ll need to walk a few kilometers, take a tuk-tuk, or have your own vehicle. However, there is a small convenience shop right next to the accommodation, which is handy if you need anything. If you’re sensitive to noise at night, it might be an issue — though that’s quite common for most hostels and village houses in Sri Lanka.

"Lovely area, close to a river walk and around 10 minutes walk to the centre of Buncrana. Lidl and Aldi are a 2-minute drive away. The apartment had everything we needed. Very cosy and clean. The host had kindly left us wheaten bread and some milk. A lovely lady ❤️"

"What a great surprise this find is, staying with a local community and eating the traditional food ,only 25mins walk to a private beach and 10min walk to the ash fields . Here the rumble of the mountain like its a distant thunder storm. The kids will show you around with great enthusiasm. And all being close to the volcano and hot springs and the hosts will arrange any other activities and transports needed , This is the real deal don't miss out . La sig.ra Gina incarna l'ospitalità e l'accoglienza che ogni ospite desidera ricevere; empatica e mai invadente, generosa nel donarsi, attenta e cordiale. Camere, ambienti comuni interni e giardino sono molto curati, la pulizia impeccabile. Io sono vegana e a colazione mi sono sentita più che accolta. There is only one power socket in the sleeping room, and it does not work (well) as the holes are too loose to uphold any charging device. A multi-socket cable connected to a repaired socket would be appreciated. In the kitchenette, there is some coffee and tea provided, much appreciated. Oddly, there is no sugar but salt. Sugar would be more useful than salt.

"Very nice hotel, it was very clean and comfortable. The tiny balcony was a plus for me and the people where so nice and friendly."

The location was not perfect for me, I ended up renting a scooter which I highly recommend.

"Lovely location and grounds. Pedro was friendly and gave us great advice for where to eat. The facilities were just what we needed. Secure parking. Lucky the dog was lovely too!"

The one thing that was missing was a sharp knife to peel oranges.

"On arrival 'Grandad' greeted us with a smile and a cup of 'ginger tea' 😊 The location is peaceful and on the edge of the forest. Only 15mins walking to seven eleven, shops, etc. The room was comfy and clean. Good value too. Bed was super comfy soft to firm! Easy to safely store our bicycles 🚴🚴 A great place to visit and Grandad may also show you around his collection of antiques. HIGHLY recommended 👌"

"The accommodation is a little out of the way, but is an absolute winner in terms of price-performance ratio. There is nothing missing. About a 25 minute walk to a well-stocked supermarket and the top restaurant Papa Figo. To the beach, turn left and go straight on. There is also a bank branch with an ATM on the way."
