"Very well situated , our room was spacious , nice balcony and a view of the river. Resteraunt on site was very nice and staff friendly and helpful."

Toilet was not flushing properly , but not much of a problem.

"The position. I was very skeptical due to bad reviews on booking.com but I found a well maintained and peaceful place. I was staying in a superior room, so can’t comment on the standard ones."

Restaurant choice was very limited but food was good

"very good location uphill, very far from street noise. we enjoyed seaview and city lights at horizon, that fara we could see from the highest small house. we got some hammocks up there and were having fun next to the amazing nature whilst chilling on the balcony, thanks to guys who secured our stay"

toilet facilities were not good, requires immediate update

"Quiet, green, uncomformist to the Italian onslaught in the rest of Watamu, wel kept, and very kind personel. Plus great breakfast."

The fans could use an update.

Super calm and peaceful in beautiful surroundings - a tonic after Dakar and Saint Louis. Relatively accessible for Saloum Delta which we loved. Great air conditioning. Lovely swimming pool"

Water pressure was low at certain times - pipe being repaired, so perhaps temporary. You'll need a car to get around (we got a taxi for 10.000 - 15.000 CFA each way to Ndangane.)

"Everything was perfect. The place was just so beautiful. Very modern and clean. I loved the interior design a lot. The kitchen was full equipped and they gave us towels for the beach as well. The distance to the city center and the beaches were no longer than 25 min. Ana and her daughter were super kind and very nice. They even let us store our language because we had a flight in the afternoon. We could have used the shower as well. All in all we loved our stay and hope to come back again 😊"

Only thing that was missing was a place to dry the clothes (for example a drying rack). Besides that there was absolutely nothing negative!

"Absolutely beautiful peaceful serene location. We were there Oct and it was cold. It must be amazing in the summer. Some issues with check-in. I guess it was off-season, because there were no staff. We needed to call and there was a small delay getting things organised. The room is huge, aircon/heater works well. Kitchen has most things you need. Fridge, microwave, utensils, etc Ensuite bathroom is large and shower is hot. It suited us perfectly."

10am check out is a bit early. We would have liked to stay around another few hours.

"It was like staying at someone’s home. V good, helpful staff and bed was v comfortable. The food was surprisingly decent for such a small place. Picturesque location even though snow was sparse at the time"

Only gripe might be that the air was quite dry, making sleep quality not so good: might be because of it being a wooden bldg

Low pressure in shower

"Magiskt vakna och djupaste djungel utanför. Charmigt byggt. Fantastisk service vid frukost och middag. Stugan var söt. Bekväma sängar. Välstädat. Tyst men djurens läten i naturen hörs. Det hör till. Det är dyrt men för oss var maten en unik upplevelse. Här kan de balansera smaker och kryddor. Bravo!! Cooking showen är egentligen inte så mkt matlagning då det mesta är förberett innan. Men lovar att du får med dig massor med nytänk och inspiration till ditt kök. Även frukosten var den bästa under våra tre veckor i Jamaica. Färskpressad stjärnfruktjuice. Omg! 👌 Så boka en hotellnatt och ät fina måltider. Familjärt och vi gillade att ägarnas barn rusade runt. Så gulliga. Även trumshowen på kvällen var häftigt i den miljön. Be dem boka taxi dit och hem. Då får du en pålitlig chaufför. Duktiga entreprenörer som driver detta. Hoppas ni kan behålla det familjärt och mysigt så det inte blir för ”hård business”."

Hade varit trevligt om pentryt hade rinnande vatten och en minikyl, men det är mitt i djungeln så 🤷🏼‍♀️ Trodde poolområdet skulle vara lite mer ”levande”, en natt hade därför räckt då kidsen blev lite uttråkade. Vi fick stök med själva rumsbokningen men Mark fixade det utan problem. Priserna är höga men konceptet samtidigt unikt. Småhundarna var söta och så glada, men schäfern var så mager. Jag har tänkt på vovven så mycket efter jag kom hem. 😟

Low pressure in shower

"Stugan var ren och fräsch, kändes nytt. Trevligt planerad och allt utom mikrovågsugn fanns i köket. Kaffebryggare och vattenkokare finns, snabb spishäll med fyra plattor, ugn och effektiv köksfläkt. En liten diskmaskin. Tydligt med sophantering, sköna sängar, bra TV, stor dusch. Gott om förvaringsutrymmen för kläder och toalettartiklar. Fin uteplats med bord och soffa/stolar. Tyst och lugnt då det låg litet utanför centrum. Vackra omgivningar. Parkering direkt utanför stugans entré. Nyckelbox och koden till den kom på e-post/meddelande från Booking dagen innan vistelsen. Enkelt och smidigt."

Saknade mikrovågsugn men det drar inte ned betyget för vistelsen. Kunde funnits en snabbguide till spisen, tog en stund att lista ut om man inte är van. Vi gjorde en del mat själva, det blev mycket disk på fyra personer så kanske något mer maskindiskmedel kunde vara på plats men å andra sidan fanns handdiskmedel och diskborste så det löste sig. Önskvärt med gardin i balkongfönstret för insyn, det fanns för alla övriga fönster. Wifi fungerade halvbra för oss.

"A little gem of a hotel in a most beautiful location. The staff give an extremely warm reception, they are super friendly, very helpful and very knowledgeable about the area and what can be done…..if they didn’t know, they knew someone who does. For example, they arranged a night watching the turtles and a guide to walk some local waterfalls. The food was out of this world, fresh and local produce cooked by chefs who’ve been cooking their whole life."

"It is a unique carribean cottage, which is a little gem. It is a five minute walk to a lovely beach. We cooked in as the kitchen had everything one required. We had our meal out on the verandah next to the kitchen and watched the sunset. Sabina is a wonderful hostess. When we arrived she tried to book as into a restaurant but it was full so she took us to the local supermarket to ensure we would have a good meal. Keith was also really helpful and a great guy. We wished we had booked it for longer."

"Beautiful cottage that I mostly had to myself. There was access to the kitchen, television, and the yard. The host was a lovely man and very kind and helpful. He was also so relaxed about everything. I had the option to use a pool at another hotel as well which was great. I also appreciated the well wishes messages from the host and his staff member when I departed."

"The people were so friendly and helpful. They gave us a free lift into town and back and answered all of our questions. The setting is beautiful next to the water with a lovely log cabin. I'd definitely stay again, especially in summer as it's a great alternative to Ciudad del Este."

It can be a bit cold if the weather isn't good.

"Great location and the scenery was beautiful. Very nice and peaceful atmosphere. Located on hill tops and the views were amazing! Perfect if you’re looking for a peaceful getaway surrounded by nature. Surrounded by trees and was entertained by monkeys swinging through the branches. The rooms were also very spacious and allowed a comfortable stay. The staff were very friendly, helpful and efficient and meals were delivered to the room. Staff were very accommodating and overall had a very pleasant and enjoyable stay."

"This magical place in the hills is owned and run by Thierry who puts a great deal of care, detail and consideration into his guest's stay. His love of the land, plants and animals is evident. Thierry gave us a tour of the property plus an amazing breakfast which included a whole tasting activity with different jams and chocolate / cheese spreads ! The bed was very comfortable. We loved the jucazzi at night whilst stargazing We enjoyed relaxing in the morning looking out over the view."

Please note if you are walking it is a steep climb back up the hill.

"The best in the village. Paul the owner is amazing.and loves his industry. The bungalows are so comfortable and well appointed. Bed was the most comfy in Laos. We could not fault anything. View from the hammock on the balcony outstanding."

"Super place for the price. I had my own room with air con and a toilet and shower. It’s 800m about to the bus station and walking distance to most restaurants and stores in Savusavu. Practically next door to the historic Planters Club. Ron the owner is really kind and at the beginning drove me around to show me what I could do in Savusavu. I had a wonderful stay"

Sometimes it can get a bit noisy if the early morning ferry leaves for Suva a couple of times a week. I stayed in the front facing g the ocean. Maybe it was quieter at the back? But really there were no complaints
