"This is not a standard hotel or gite or whatever, this is a special place. Expect no luxury here, this is not what Karims guesthouse is about. It is about being in a small village and in nature. Basically, this is as close to a home stay as you can book on Booking. You can choose a room or the stilted house (recommended) in a garden full of interesting plants. Your water comes from a well or the river, your coffee directly from the bushes around you, and the food from...actually I don't know where, but it is amazing. One of the Kpime waterfalls is just a short, but nice walk away, and you can roam the village or take a long walk to Yikpa waterfall (~4 h one way). And when you come back, you lay in a hammock with a fresh and local cocoa or sit in the garden. And the best, you don't need to be in Kpalime, with all the chaos, noise, and smells. Although it is something different, I really enjoyed my stay. Karim is a fantastic host and La montagne verde exactly my type of stay."

Just be aware what you are booking, and there is nothing negative about it.

"The owner of the place and her family were very friendly and helpful and helped me organize rental car and transport to the airport."

There are some minor damages which could get repaired but thats just to improve the oberall look of the place. Beside that everything was perfect and it was a very pleasant stay

The shelf above the bed head is rather low and it is very easy to bump into it. The duvet is rather short for an adult.

"What a beautiful location on a few kms outside Amsterdam. The owners are super friendly and helped us plan our visits in the area. A working milking farm, it was amazing to wake up each morning to the sound of cattle and ducks. A beautiful experience."

"Nice family :) Aku speaks english very well and she could explain a lot of things about Kirguis life. She also prepared a delicious plov for us. I keep a very nice feeling from this accommodation, really special connection. I would maintain the contact with Aku for sure!!!"

Everything was good.

"What an amazing place to stay. the house is beautiful and well decorated. The pool is amazing and made our holiday. The beds were very comfortable. The showers and bath were also very good. Plenty of cooking utensils and glasses and plates etc."

The meter for the air conditioning was a bit annoying but once I'd got enough coins ok.

"There was nothing to really "like" - nothing standing out - IMHO room facilities, decoration, bathroom and bedding where merely acceptable."

The owner's agony on low power consumption is obvious. 1) the fuse controling TV & AirConditioner was off - had to do a bit of troubleshooting in order to get the TV operational 2) lighting in the room extremely low 3) stove required ~45 minutes to prepare one cup of coffee. The road to get to the property is suitable for one way traffic. If you crossed with another vehicle one of the two would have to reverse. Pet friendliness was limited to the owner's pets and was not extended to the guests' pets. The owner resented the fact that I traveled with my pet noticing that I should have informed up-front.
