Sobo Bade

"Friendly staff, quirky architecture, on-site bar/restaurant, direct beach access. They fixed my (missing) toilet seat as soon as I mentioned it. The main beachfront area was lovely, and I stayed a second night. There are shops and restaurants nearby - though I didn't find one that was as cozy as Sobo Bade itself - and it's not far from Popenguine and its nature reserve."

"My room was in an annexe (and therefore cheaper!) and the bathroom facilities were in the room (though there was a door - but not a full-height wall - separating the toilet from the rest of the room); definitely only for solo travellers! There was good WiFi in the main part of the guesthouse, but it didn't reach my room. There was no hot water, but I discovered when leaving that I could have asked for a bucket of hot water to take to the room."

"Sobo Bade is a simple hotel with good facilities and a restaurant. There's a lot of music on site and an art gallery, so there is plenty to see and get involved with. The staff and local people are friendly and helpful. I recommend staying there if you love music and don't mind a simple room."

"The rooms are traditional, a little tight and lack modern comfort. There is no running hot water shower and this will come from a tap and on request. The location is quite hidden and tucked away, the roads to get there are still not very developed."
